FTTx
The Clarity solution for FTTx provides operators with the tools to reduce costs and time-scales in their network rollout and manage assets, support sophisticated hierarchical Virtual ISP ecosystems as well as implement full inventory, provisioning and assurance operational processes for fiber networks.
Like the rollout of all fixed network technologies, FTTx rollouts have many business challenges and are typically complex, expensive and exposed to delays and overruns. Once the network is deployed, sophisticated products need to be provisioned through the orchestration of many automated and manual steps, focused on a wide range of technologies; from fiber jumpering and CPE installation, through the account settings on service platforms. As a passive network, identification and isolation of faults can be difficult and heavily reliant upon a combination of customer reported faults, line testing and field-engineer inspection.
Many network operators focusing on FTTx deployments are exposing wholesale services to Virtual ISPs. In order to reduce the cost of entry for these VISPs some operators are starting to providing managed services for product definition, provisioning, account management and billing.
